Sugarcult, Start Static

By Adam Goetz

If you throw enough shit at radio stations you are bound to make it on a play list somewhere.

Sugarcult’s debut album Start Static has been re-released to capitalize on the emerging pop-punk craze in the music industry. The album has been out for over a year now and the two singles “Stuck in America” and “Bouncing off the walls” haven’t done much to attain the “fickle fame” that Tim Pagnotta sings about. The problem is that their sound is all too typical; there are dozens of bands out there doing the exact same thing. If you’ve heard one, you’ve heard them all.

Now I have no doubt that this band will find a place in the rotation between Avril Lavigne and Good Charlotte, but I just have to ask, why?
