Borialis

By Ivan Danielewicz

When a band gets signed to a major label it usually means they have something interesting to bring to the table or they happen to fit in with the current trends of music. Borialis’ new release, What You Thought You Heard, fits neither of those categories.

Trying to land somewhere between an off-shoot of Limp Bizkit and Incubus, Borialis has missed the Nu-Metal craze by several years and they offer nothing that would bring Nu-Metal’s popularity back. The album is just plain boring with a lack of energy coming though the music. The single, "What You Thought You Heard," sounds exactly the same as the rest of the CD and I had trouble figuring out where one track ended and the other began because of the repetitiveness in the sound from one song to the next.

Please don’t waste your time or your money on this recording.
