Dragosh

By Chris Beauchamp

From the opening acoustic melody of “Confess,” to the soulful blues stylings of songs like “Surrender” and “Could You,” the music of Dragosh is difficult to categorize. Layered into piano and acoustic arrangements, the album is saturated with electronic beats and topped with the haunting lyrical work of Lydie Dubuisson and Carrie Katz.

Meandering through tracks ranging from techno pop to slow psychedelic tripouts, Where You Dream is not for everybody. The musicianship is solid but unremarkable, with classically trained vocalists and the multiple instruments employed well by the man behind the music, Dragosh Elie. Although great if you’re makin’ it with your old lady or hopped up on hallucinogens, Dragosh lacks any real musical bite.
