Senate – Matt Trotta

Although Trotta sincerely believes he can learn how to be senate representative as he goes, he does not even understand the basic job of the senate as a whole and what his role would be were he elected into one of the seats. He misunderstands the role the senate plays and this clearly demonstrates he did not investigate the position he is running for to a point of understanding–if he investigated it at all.

Another problem is Trotta’s listed qualifications, they’re all at the high school level. When you are in a meeting with business leaders and others from the upper echelon of the community, at least some common ground would be beneficial.

How will you identify student issues and how will you bring those issues, once identified, to the senate?

“I plan to keep up with the affairs through concerned groups that come up and bring those matters to the senate in a very forthright and methodical manner.”

How will you enhance the effectiveness of student representation?

“As long as people have a feeling that student representatives are not powerless and can do things, people will come forward and through that get positive results for everyone.’
