BSD finally has a homePDF files may take a moment to load

Students may need to look at their campus maps to find the new location for Bermuda Shorts Day this year. The Students' Union announced the event will be held in Lot 32 on the corner of Crowchild Trail and 24th Ave.

The traditional spot in front of MacEwan Student Centre is overrun by construction for the Taylor Family Library, so efforts began last year to find a new location for the big event.

With construction of the Taylor Family Library displacing Bermuda Shorts Day from its usual location, the Students' Union is hoping to use Quality Money to cover additional costs.

This year's BSD is facing financial problems because of the downturned economy and the construction of the TFL.

Historically, BSD is held in the grassy area to the south of the MacEwan Student Centre. This year it was forced to move, as the construction project is in the way.

The lack of planning for events celebrating this year's Black History Month is causing concern about vice-president events Luke Valentine among a few Students' Union members. As of yet, there is one major event planned that will cost students $25 at the door.

"Usually we try to throw as many events for free for students as possible," said Valentine, who is campaigning to keep his VP events position for another year.
