The long process of creating a new operating agreement, which would see CJSW gain a new workspace and autonomy, is winding down.

In recent conversations, CJSW and the Students' Union have shortened the list of 35 points of contention over this contract to just 10. Both SU Vice-President Operations and Finance Gavin Preston and CJSW Station Manager Chad Saunders are hopeful the deal will be entering the final stages soon.

I am generally of the opinion that students, and youth in general, have a tendency to complain simply to hear their own voice or for a lack of anything better to do. Every once in a while, however, I feel the need to join in the chorus.

Paul Martin must be licking his lips as he watches former Progressive Conservatives either come to him or choose to sit as independents. Scott Brison crossed the floor, Keith Martin said he will run for the Liberals in the upcoming election, and Joe Clark, John Herron and Andre Bachand are all currently sitting as independents and will not run in the next election.
