As if making it to morning classes and trying to resist the pull of the Den weren't enough mental and physical challenges, students have a new opportunity to test themselves thanks to a group of computer scientists.

The Puzzled Game gives students, staff and faculty a chance to compete in small teams for as yet unidentified prizes. Sound mysterious? According to organizers, that's the point.

This letter originally ran on June 22, 1989. No one seems to be stirred up by any of our recent controversy, so we've decided to run this older letter to set an example of sorts for our valued readers. The Gauntlet is not responsible for irrelevance.

Editor, The Gauntlet,

Dastardly dreadful Dubnyk drags down dramaPDF files may take a moment to load

The University of Calgary Department of Drama's production of The Libertine is many things. It's dark, it's witty and it's a lot of fun. It's also grievously flawed. Directorial choices are clever, some of the performances are stirring and the dialogue is smart but all of its positive attributes are marred by a single poor choice in casting. This single bad judgement call is made worse because it's the only major flaw the piece has.

Spun: Bryan AdamsPDF files may take a moment to load

As the holiday season approaches, the real question on everyone's mind isn't 'do they know it's Christmas?' but rather, 'who's due to release a best-of compilation?' Among the many is Bryan Adams, who releases what seems like his millionth career retrospective with Anthology.

If you're interested in earning extra money, all you have to do is compile a holiday album. It's easier than it sounds, the secret is as simple as getting a few bands to actually record versions of holiday classics and fill out the rest of the album with random songs using bells or mentioning the word 'Christmas.' This approach undoubtedly spawned Warcon's frighteningly uneven compilation, Taste of Christmas.
