The proposed University of Calgary student-run Public Interest Research Group's win in the Students' Union plebiscite has raised questions about their future.

A total of 1,889 students approved the plebiscite with a majority of students in favour of a $1.00 levy. Slightly more than 40 per cent of students voted against PIRG. Unlike a referendum, a plebiscite is non-binding and used as an information gathering tool.

Graduate student Ray Novak has filed a formal complaint against the U of C Graduate Students' Association for a bylaw violation in the proceedings of the referendum on membership in the Canadian Federation of Students taking place this week.

Anyone who's played Sim City knows you can't build low-density hous ing all the way to the mountains. As well, any good Sim City developer knows that in order to reduce traffic on the roads and maintenance expenses, one should definitely install not only an efficient transit system, but one capable of expanding to meet a city's growing needs. In fact, a lack of Sim City je ne sais quoi is one reason why Calgarians are without public transit right now, with no end to the walking in sight.

Unfortunately, the Gauntlet editors entirely "missed the boat" and, in fact, sunk swiftly to the bottom of the lake when writing about the CBC interview between Jeff Collins and myself from Fri., March 16.
