In one of the most in your face experimental discs to be released this year, Tim Hecker has definitely taken his eccentric blend of minimalism to another level on My Love is Rotten to the Core. Sampling and processing everything from raunchy guitars to ethereal voices to clicks and beeps, Hecker’s release just screams to be listened to with a pair of headphones. While not as accessible as his previous efforts, this cd has definitely stepped miles ahead in terms of the head-trip it provides. This may just be the new sound of rock ‘n’ roll.
