Pitching a tent is fun!

What does the su do for you?

In case you haven’t been paying attention for the last few months, there’s a very important tuition decision coming up. The University of Calgary’s Board of Governors will decide how much tuition to charge students next year and this decision will affect you, and future generations of students at the U of C.

We’re at the point where the su has done almost everything that we can, but now we need your support! On March 17 you will notice tents going up on MacEwan Students’ Centre South Lawn in support of the fight against differential tuition and tuition increases. If you have a tent, join in. If you don’t, stop by the su office or Tuition Headquaters and reserve one for free.

There will be a different Tent City event each night for those coming out. Monday night, for those who don’t know, is St. Patricks Day, so show the Irish in you! Tuesday will be movie night, and Poolhall Junkies will premiere in the Science Theatres 148. Wednesday will be free pizza night for all those camping. Finally, Thursday will be the grand finale with bands, protest marches, and fubar.

Each morning there will be free breakfast for those that camped out Anyone that tents for more than two nights will receive a free ticket to fubar and Creep’r on Thursday night. Worried about the cold? Don’t be. If it gets too chilly we’re moving indoors. If for some reason you can’t make it out during the week, then make sure to come to the Tuition Protest on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. If you can, show up at 1:00 p.m. for bands and a free bar-b-que.

The Board of Govenors rally at 8:00 a.m. is the most important event that you can participate in this year; make sure to be at MacHall South Lawn on Friday morning. To energize you we have arranged a pancake breakfast for 6:00 a.m.

Show your passion. Pitch a tent!
