Well, here it is.  Proof that to make quality hip-hop, you don’t need to hail from New York, Long Beach or even Toronto.  Composed of entirely independent Canadian artists, this disc fires track after track of original style that will satisfy any fan of hip-hop.  Further to its credit, Dig Your Roots  features artists from Halifax to Vancouver, and many places in between, including Hobbema, Winnipeg, and Edmonton.  The Goods and Josh Martinez both contribute standout tracks on this great collection, as do all the artists, but Warparty delivers a sincerely angry and amazing piece entitled “Feeling Reserved” that places them, and this disc, high in my books.
