No Caribbean holiday

As nice as the weather has been in Calgary, a pair of Dinos are more than happy to be in sunny Santo Domingo instead. Chad Murray and Erin Gammel, both members of the Dinos swim team, will be sporting maple leafs and representing Canada at the Pan-American Games, beginning Aug. 1 in the capital of the Dominican Republic.

Murray and Gammel are both members of the Canadian national team, and CIS gold medalists, Murray in the 100-meter butterfly and Gammel in both the 50 and 100-meter backstrokes and as a member of the 4X100 medley relay team. Gammel is also the CIS record holder in the 100-meter butterfly.

Both Dinos look to help Canada improve on a record 196 medal performance turned in at the 1999 Pan-Am Games in Winnipeg, a total good enough for second in the medal standings behind only the United States.
