Falconer

By Sarah Radomsky

Back in 1999, when Swedish group Mithotyn split and frontman Stefan Weinerhall announced plans to start a new group using clean vocals, people were skeptical. In 2000, Falconer was born and has since climbed toward power-metal stardom.

The Sceptre of Deception introduces talented vocalist Kristoffer Göbel, who lets all predecessors be forgotten. Folk influences, mighty choirs and hymnal elements are all present. This epic concept album gets better with every listen.
