Health and Dental Plan 2002

By Вen Li

Coverage under the opt-in undergraduate health and dental is one of many wonderful benefits of being a U of C student. Though coverage has been reduced since last year because students voted against increasing fees to maintain coverage, for $96.50 per session ($51.50 health and $45.00 dental) you get a pretty sweet deal. If mommy or daddy have you covered (by something more than provincial health coverage), you can waive the plan by submitting a waiver form (found in the Master Timetable on page 9) to the Undergraduate Health and Dental Plan office in MSC 371 by September 20, 2002.

Health goodies include:
• 80 per cent coverage of prescription drugs (Viagra*)
• certain medical equipment (enlargers*)
• coverage for physiotherapy, massage (make your own joke*)
Dental benefits (to an annual maximum of $750):
• 100 per cent coverage for an annual exam and basic cleaning
• 80 per cent for fillings (anesthetics taste like burning)
• 75 per cent for impacted wisdom tooth extractions (mmm… nourishing gruel)
* Not actually covered
