Ever been to a buffet? Just miles and miles of tasty food waiting to be sampled. In some ways Sounds from the Verve Hi-Fi resembles said buffet. It’s a tasty sampler, compiled by Thievery Corporation and good for anyone curious about Latin jazz.
There’s definitely a Latin spice to this CD, but there’s plenty of different styles within the Latin genre to keep aural taste satisfied. It’s difficult to single out any particular song. But hey, this review needs an opinion so try out "Batucada" by Walter Wanderley with a neat Latin organ or the cover of "Light my Fire" by Astrud Gilberto.
