Branded as controversial by some, morally and intellectually principled by others, Dr. Norman Finkelstein will be bringing his analysis of the Israel-Palestine conflict to the University of Calgary Sat., Apr. 3.

"I'll be discussing various kinds of ways the historiography, both scholarly and popular, on the Israel-Palestine conflict has distorted perceptions about what actually happened over the past 100 years," said Dr. Finkelstein from his office in Chicago.

1. Respect her mirror space.

You watch yourself to make sure your technique is just right, so why isn't important for her to watch her technique as well? In other words, don't stand in front of her during a set when you could stand just about anywhere else. Just because she doesn't grunt or curl 50lb. dumbells doesn't mean she's not taking her workout just as seriously as you're taking yours.

2. Quit ogling.

In the name of sciencePDF files may take a moment to load

There are many ways of looking at the world, but scientific knowledge seems to reign supreme. Society seems to have a need for everything to fit a theory. Nothing goes uncategorized. There's a reason for everything and, more likely than not, these reasons stem from rigorous testing.

At university, scientific laws surround us--even if we aren't "science students." You would be hard-pressed to find someone on this or any campus that hasn't had to delve into research to prove or disprove an academic theory of some kind.

Re: "The crime of the masses," Mar. 25, 2004,

Being a music lover, and a frequent Kazaa user, I was stunned to see Myke Atkinson's warped views on Internet music sharing in his opinion column last week. In the start of his column, Atkinson got a few things right; namely the importance of music in our lives and the impact it can have on us. Then he boldly stated that loving music demands we pay multinational corporations big bucks for it.

Re: "Election overturned," Mar. 25, 2004,

Sadly, it appears even universities are not above the legal games so prevalent in elections these days. Rather than accept the will of the electorate, it seems much easier for the losers to simply throw their efforts into judicial appeals. Now Phil Barski will join Sheila Copps in the courts, unable to accept the decision handed down by the voters.

Imagine building a soul inside of you. Slowly creating fingers and toes, a life that will last decades. While you sit reading the paper or stand in line at the grocery store, you are making a person, a little being that will grow and smile and laugh and hate and cry and be in the world because of you.

The first thing I can say about this album is it's different. If you're looking for something that tears away from Incubus you know, you'll find it here.

The latest addition to their discography, A Crow Left Of The Murder is a socially conscious album with clean guitar riffs and many interesting sound effects, including a high pitched screeching at the beginning of the disc. This is one of those acquired tastes, it grows on you in time. Being a fan of Incubus I thought I would give this CD more than a fair chance.

Pretty much everyone agreed that the 2002 debut from Sondre Lerche, Faces Down, contained far more potential than your average teenage coffeehouse songwriter. Bacharach-esque pop tunes are difficult enough for seasoned songwriters, but here was a 19-year-old playing songs he'd written years before and even the worst tunes couldn't be described as anything less than average.

Every time I listen to this album I am forced to ask myself an important question: how on Earth has Alpha managed to elude me for so long? They've been around since 1996 but Stargazing is the first I've heard from them. I feel like I should be making fun of myself.
