Ohgr’s newest release, Welt, is painful, yet strangely amusing to listen to. These NIN try-hards sound like a bad feedback monitor. The intro to the song "Kettie" made us wonder if our stereo was broken. Another song’s background sirens and chanting guitar chords sounded like Ohgr were being chased by both the bad-music police and Battlestar Gallactica, all while being attacked by aliens.

The entire CD could be the soundtrack to a bad ’90s drama. Remember the up-and-coming songs played at Degrassi Junior High School dances? This is even worse than those. The harpsichord-imitating synthesizers are as scary as the cover art.

If Dieter (of SNL fame) had a CD, this would be it. And that’s not a good thing.
