Save the tumours

By Alyssa Morrell

Editor, the Gauntlet,

Just for fun, I thought I’d try fighting for a cause “pro-life” style. My cause? Tumours.

I’m sick of all these selfish people running around getting surgery that can potentially improve and even save their lives. Does anyone take a second to ask the cancer-riddled breast if it wants to stay or go? What about those innocent little pieces of grey matter that are sacrificed each time a brain tumour is removed? I can’t tell you how many sleepless nights I’ve had thinking about all the tumours and limbs thrown away by those selfish cancer sufferers and their ruthless oncologists. I propose a campus club dedicated to covering every cork board on campus with pictures of surgical scars and unwanted tumours, especially in Mac Hall, so we can really ponder the horror of it all while attempting to eat our lunches.

I’m not trying to say that babies are tumours, or ignore the fact that sometimes abortions are abused. What I am saying is that just because something may be perceived as horrible, doesn’t mean that it’s not the right choice.
