200 students face academic misconduct

By Daniel Pagan

Two hundred Ryerson University students could face academic misconduct for posting and viewing old coursework on a new study site, universityjunction.com. Donna Bell, the university’s academic integrity officer is alarmed about students sharing assignments on the study site, explaining she is fine with collaboration, but individual assignments still need to be done individually.

According to The Eyeopener Online, RU’s student newspaper, the site also allows students to work together on homework through online chat or forums.

Students can access University Junction at 10 Canadian and American universities.

In 2007, Ryerson engineering student Chris Avenir was almost expelled for being an administrator in a Facebook chemistry study group.
